UNDERWATER DRONES CONTROL TOWER: ARCHITECTURE, DESIGN, ENGINEERING

Two-thirds of the surface of Earth is covered with oceans and deep seas. We have more profoundly and better explored distant planets than our own planet undersea. We do not have detailed maps of the undersea nor do we full understand living ecosystems in deep oceans. So far, these explorations have been partial and executed by various kinds of autonomous/semi-autonomous vehicles. We will present our ongoing project Control Tower (CT), outline the conceptual architecture of the entire system and give some details of the RoboFish design.

Required audience experience

Audience should have broad understanding of architecting principles, familiarity with technology-driven designs and some experiences with engineering of devices for challenging environments.

Objective of the talk

Attendees should exit the talk with firm understanding of importance of the holistic approach to system engineering.
