Is your AI real-world ready?

Emma Kendrew, Accenture

Implementing AI in the right way means responsibly, practically and purposefully.

Making AI work is not just a technical challenge. Even once algorithms start learning effectively, there are a number of factors that make or break AI.

Responsibility means asking whether your AI will become a fully functioning, responsible member of society. Let’s remember it may make big decisions affecting peoples’ lives. Practicality means giving it the right data, that’s verified, unbiased and accurate. But finally, AI needs to be purposeful. It has to graduate from the lab to operate at scale. To be effective, it has to have been built for a specific use and with a people-oriented end in mind.

Required audience experience

The talk is aimed at executives looking to turn AI from an idea/pilot into a real world solution. Knowledge of basic AI terminology is important, but not engineer-level understanding.

Objective of the talk

To learn how three fundamental objectives stitch together into a coherent approach for implementation of AI. Realise the importance of perhaps over-looked objectives and how to achieve them/include them in your strategy.
